The lowest temperature recorded over the country today morning was 16.4°C in Jais Mountain.

The National Centre of Meteorology, NCM, on Friday warned sea-goers of rough seas in the Arabian Gulf as a result of fresh northwesterly winds that reach 40 kmph.

In a statement issued today, the NCM said that wave heights are expected up to seven feet offshore until Saturday 8pm. Residents are advised to be cautious while swimming in the various beaches in the region.

In general, the weather forecast for today is expected to be partly cloudy with gradual decrease in temperatures. Some convective rainy clouds may appear north and eastwards clouds at times during the day.

The temperature could hover between 32 to 35°C over the coastal areas and between 33 to 36°C  in the internal areas.

The lowest temperature recorded over the country today morning was 16.4°C in Jais Mountain at 07:15am.

The seas will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and also moderate in the Oman Sea.

The NCM has also issued a weather forecast until Monday. The weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy at times during the day, with the probability fog formation over the eastern areas.
