True to the National Center of Meteorology’s weather forecast, moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms, along with a decline in temperatures have lashed the UAE today.

Earlier, the NCM has predicted thunderstorms and freezing rain in across the country and advised residents to take precautions.

The weather forecast for today will be “partly cloudy to cloudy in general with a chance of rainfall over scattered areas, associated with thunder at times especially over the Northern and Eastern areas with an decrease in temperatures across the country”.

There will be a significant drop in temperature with a chance of rain as the weather gets cloudy. The highest temperature recorded over the country on Monday was 23°C in Fujairah Airport at 3:00pm.

Amid the unstable weather, the NCM issued advisories to minimise and prevent potential dangers during thunderstorms.

The NCM advised people to follow weather reports on social media to get the latest information.

The sea will be moderate becoming ‘rough to very rough’ by afternoon in the Arabian Gulf and moderate in the Oman Sea.
