Mercury drops across UAE as heavy rain lashes the country.

A video of a mall in UAE has gone viral on social media after rain water seeped in – flooding a floor and stores on it.

Circulating on social media, netizens have identified the shopping centre as the world’s second largest shopping mall – The Dubai Mall. The viral clip shows a section of the mall cordoned off after it got flooded with water – forming a large pool on the floor after heavy downpour lashed UAE on Sunday.

In one of the clips, shoppers can be seen standing around as cleaners sweep the floor – trying to prevent the water getting into the stores.

The iconic Emaar development is located in the heart of the prestigious Downtown Dubai. With a total internal floor area of 5.9 million sq ft, The Dubai Mall has over 1,300 retail outlets.

The developer or the mall management are yet to confirm the incident.
