The authorities have urged the public to rely only on authentic sources of information.
The UAE on Sunday rubbished rumours that malls in the country were going to be closed for two weeks.
Reacting to the false social media posts, the National Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management Authority in UAE took to Twitter to issue a clarification.
The authority has stressed on the importance of obtaining news from official authorities and called upon all members of the public to ensure the authenticity of the information, before circulating it.
