Permits had been suspended following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The UAE will resume issuing entry and work permits for employment in government and semi-government entities, as well as visas for domestic workers, authorities announced on Monday.
Measures to stem the spread of Covid-19, such as PCR tests for workers before they enter the country, as well as quarantine if deemed necessary, will be in place.
The announcement was made by UAE’s official news agency WAM, citing the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.
Workers holding valid UAE residence visas can continue to enter the country, irrespective of their nationality, including those who work in government and semi-government entities.
Those wishing to enter the country are required to submit a request on the website ica.gov.ae.
