However, some Dubai schools have decided to postpone the reopening of their campuses as some teachers and staff are yet to undergo Covid-19 tests.

Everything is set as school students return to campuses today for their first socially distanced classes. School managements have taken all steps to ensure safety under the guidance of Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) officials.

However, some Dubai schools have decided to postpone the reopening of their campuses as some teachers and staff are yet to undergo Covid-19 tests, Khaleej Times has learnt.

Instead of welcoming back students to classrooms today, these schools will start the new academic term with online classes as they await virus test results. Last week, the KHDA made it mandatory for all Dubai school staff to get screened for Covid-19 prior to reopening.

Central School Dubai and New Indian Model School are among those that will be holding distance learning sessions in the first few days. Amity School Dubai also said they will be moving the start of their classes to September 1.

In Abu Dhabi, secure class bubbles and designated zones are ready. Facilities are disinfected, sanitisers are kept at key points, guide stickers placed on floors, and staff members are given instructions to make students feel comfortable. And in the first phase of reopening, only students in primary levels will return for face-to-face classes.

Since parents have been given an option to choose the learning mode for their children, not all pupils will be starting the new academic term in the same way. Some will be home for e-learning.
