Saudi intercept 5 Houthi unmanned drones in new airport attack: coalition

Air traffic at Abha International Airport is operating normally, no flight delays.

The Royal Saudi Air Defense Force and Air Force have successfully intercepted and dropped five unmanned drone aircraft launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia on Friday morning, aimed at Abha International Airport and Khamis Mushait province, the coalition’s spokesperson said in a statement released by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

He said that air traffic and airspace at Abha International Airport are operating normally, and there is no delay in flights.

He added that the Houthi terrorist organisation is trying to target civilian facilities in desperate and repeated attempts, without achieving any of their irresponsible and hostile objectives. “We affirm our legitimate right to take appropriate measures in conformity with international humanitarian law and its customary rules,” he said.
