Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index lost 83.17 points, or 0.81 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,227.52 points.
Trading value during last week decreased by 28.54 percent to reach QR864.98m compared to QR1.21bn.
Trading volume decreased by 51.18 percent to reach 301.02 million shares, as against 616.61 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 31.67 percent, to reach 23,571 transactions as compared to 34,496 transactions.
Market cap fell by 0.40 percent to reach QR569.36bn as compared to QR571.66bn at the end of previous week, reports QNA.
Banking and Financial Services sector led trading value last week with 55.8 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 16.30 percent. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 11.92 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 5.51 percent.
Industries sector led traded volume last week with 29.99 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 28.36 percent. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 18.37 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 15.43 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 32.2 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 27.69 percent. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 14.62 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 10.20 percent.
From the 46 listed companies 13 ended last week higher, while 29 fell and four remained unchanged.
QNB led trading value during last week accounted for 20.02 percent of the total trading value. Qatar International Islamic Bank accounted 16.50 percent and Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 8.21 percent.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE index gained 29.95 points, or 0.29 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 63.13 million from 70.77 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR211,11m from QR190.23m on Wednesday.
From the 49 companies listed on QSE, shares of 47 saw trading today. From these, 13 companies gained, 27 closed lower, while 7 remaining company unchanged.
