Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Gambian Red Cross to enhance joint action and define the general frameworks of the various operational indicators and strategic directions between the two parties.
Secretary-General of QRCS Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi and Secretary-General of the Gambian Red Cross Alasan Senghore signed the agreement during a visit by a QRCS delegation to the Republic of The Gambia.
In a statement Monday, QRCS pointed out that its visit to The Gambia aimed at strengthening humanitarian relations and raising the level of communication with associate national societies.
During the visit, the delegation of QRCS held meetings with Vice-President of The Gambia Isatou Touray and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Gambia Mamadou Tangara.
The Qatari delegation was briefed on some projects of needy families in villages out of Banjul capital of The Gambia.
Also, the delegation of QRCS visited the ambulance center at the Gambian Red Cross Society premises. The delegation also briefed on some activities carried out by the Gambian Red Cross for the benefit of the local community.
