The municipality said the initiative is part of its “corporate social responsibility to bring joy to workers and their families on this religious occasion”.

Several construction workers in Abu Dhabi have got new clothes for Eid Al Adha thanks to an initiative launched by the emirate’s municipality. The civic body has distributed new clothes to 1,000 workers at 100 construction sites in the city, Al Reem Island, Bani Yas, Al Riyadh city, Al Raha and Yas Island.

The municipality said the initiative is part of its “corporate social responsibility to bring joy to workers and their families on this religious occasion”.

The festival is typically celebrated with new clothes, gifts and animal sacrifices.

Eid Al Adha will be celebrated on Friday, July 31. A four-day holiday has been declared in the UAE from Thursday, July 30, to Sunday, August 2, to mark the occasion.
