Perfect your moves at Abu Dhabi’s K-Pop Academy

Want to bust out moves like BTS?

If you’ve ever dreamt of dancing like your favourite K-Pop star, now’s your chance.

K-Pop Academy returns to Abu Dhabi for 2019 with a six-week choreography course that will perfect your moves to those insanely catchy K-Pop anthems.

It’s totally free and open to applications from anyone aged 14 or over.

Starting on 29th June, the weekly sessions will be led by trainers from the Korean entertainment industry. These include Roh, who has danced on stage with top K-Pop talents including Winner, Black Pink and Icon.

Applications for the experience are open from now until 23rd June. Classes take place at the Korean Cultural Center Abu Dhabi, from 29th June to 8th August with three weekly timings to choose from.

Organised annually by the Cultural Center, it’s the capital’s K-Pop Academy’s fourth outing.

So far 200 students have completed their K-Pop training, as passion soars for the genre in the UAE. Korean boy band EXO even saw one of their anthems added to the repertoire at popular attraction The Dubai Fountain, following a visit to the emirate in 2018.

To apply for the K-Pop Academy, you must be aged 14 or over. Email kccuaekpop@gmail.com to find out more.

If you love Korean culture, a Korean film festival is also taking place in Abu Dhabi. Hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, screenings will take place at Vox Cinemas in Yas Mall from 26th to 29th June.

Tickets are AED 21 (including VAT) and all films are subtitled in English. Find the full schedule at k-filmfest.com
