The parking spaces have been equipped with parking signs and meters, some of which have a touch screen.

As many as 2,992 parking spaces in Sharjah have been converted into paid parking slots, the municipality announced on Monday.

The paid parking spaces are in the Muwailih 3 (1,755 spaces), Al Nahda (651 spaces) and Al Taawon (586 spaces) areas, Sharjah Municipality said.

“The new paid parking spots were prepared according to the highest standards as part of the municipality’s continued efforts to provide public parking spaces around the clock throughout the city of Sharjah, especially in the vital zones. This step help prevent the misuse of parking spaces,” the authority said.

The parking spaces have been equipped with parking signs and meters, some of which have a touch screen.
