Motorists in Abu Dhabi offered free tyre checks by police

Abu Dhabi Police know that exploding tyres cause accidents over the hot UAE summer.

To combat this, the force is offering free tyre checks during July to motorists in the capital.

Get yours inspected at Adnoc fuel stations in the Corniche, Al Mushrif, Al Reem Islands, Mahwi, Al Samha and Khalifa City.

Al Masaood Tyres will tell you whether they’re safe to drive on, in a bid to prevent accidents on the UAE’s roads.

If that isn’t enough of an incentive, driving with worn-out wheels can land you with a AED 500 fine and four black points on your licence.

In the first half of 2019, 5,376 cars were seized for this very offence. Sadly, during the same time, two people died and 12 were injured in seven traffic accidents caused by blowouts.

Free tyre checks at Adnoc garages until 16th July.
