‘Monsoon progressing towards MP via Goa, Karnataka’: BJP leader’s dig at Cong | India News

BHOPAL: The BJP in Madhya Pradesh has turned more offensive after the much talked about lunch and dinner diplomacy of the ruling Congress party, amid political uncertainty in Karnataka and the melt-down of the party in Goa.
Senior BJP leader Narottam Mishra took a dig at the show of strength by state Congress and said “monsoon” has progressed from Goa and is soon reaching Madhya Pradesh via Karnataka, apparently hinting at a possible change of rule in MP.
“I received a WhatsApp message today which read, the weather of Madhya Pradesh is going to change very soon. The monsoon which was developed in Goa is progressing towards Madhya Pradesh via Karnataka. There will be a change in the weather here very soon. People are speculating with political thought. Is there anybody who can translate the meaning of this message to me?” Mishra asked reporters.
The BJP leader’s remarks came in response to queries related to the lunch and dinner meet of Congress leaders. Mishra said that the Congress gathering shows uneasiness in the party amid differences between the factions.
“It was Congress who has been clarifying on and off that the government will complete its five-year term. BJP never asked Congress government will work only for five months. The discomfort being exhibited by the Congress leaders is noticeable”, he said.
Scindia who first had lunch with chief minister Kamal Nath at his official residence on Thursday met his legislators and Nath again at a dinner party organised by one of his close confidant, Tulsiram Silawata, a cabinet minister, in plush Char Imli area of the capital. The dinner which lasted for almost two hours discussed party’s strategy amid Karnataka crisis, seeking consensus over the name of AICC and PCC presidents, which are to be elected very soon.
Former minister Vishwas Sarang also took a dig at the Congress show of strength saying, “Such statements crop up from the Congress when things are not up to the mark. The dinner inviting big satraps of a particular faction clearly shows that `everything is not right”.
Sarang reiterated that BJP never claimed to topple the government but, it was imminent that the Congress government will fall on its own.
