‘Mission Mangal’Vs‘Batla House’: Akshay Kumar starrer gets excellent opening while John Abraham starrer sees low occupancy | Hindi Movie News

This Independence Day, Akshay Kumar and John Abraham locked horns with ‘ Mission Mangal’ and ‘ Batla House’ at the box office. ‘Mission Mangal‘ got the 12th highest opening while ‘Batla House‘ got a decent advance booking.

According to the latest BoxofficeIndia report, the Akshay Kumar starrer has taken an excellent opening of 50-55% which is the second-best opening of the year after ‘Bharat’. The pricing on ticket rates is similar but the screen count is comparatively less.

Looking at the numbers we can say that the film might collect a huge on Day 1. It doesn’t have any other extra benefit just one big star and the holiday will take the film to another level. However, its real level will be seen on day two and from there whether it goes on to become a big hit.

On the other hand ‘Batla House’ has taken an ordinary opening of 20-25% which is far lower than John Abraham’s last outing ‘Satyameva Jayate‘. The film does not have anything for mass circuits and in the bigger multiplexes it has turned out to be a one-horse race. If there wouldn’t have been a clash the film would have received a pretty good opening at the box office as now the film is facing low occupancy problem due to Akshay Kumar’s ‘Mission Mangal’. Now, the audiences will have to do a huge amount of work to regain the momentum for ‘Batla House’. If the public reports are good then it will have a chance to hold shows.

Meanwhile, ‘Mission Mangal’ has the third-best opening of the year after ‘Avengers – Endgame’ and ‘Bharat’ and the top openings are dominated by Hollywood releases.

Here’s the list:

1. Avengers – Endgame – 77.5%

2. Bharat – 60%

3. Mission Mangal – 52.5%

4. Kabir Singh – 42.5%

5. Captain Marvel – 37.5%

6. Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw – 35%

7. Spiderman – Far From Home – 35%

8. Gully Boy – 32.5%

9. Kalank – 30%

10. Total Dhamaal – 30%
