Pre-orders for Kylo Ren-, Sith-themed device in UAE expected to start any day soon

The Star Wars universe may be oozing with technology, but it doesn’t have anything quite like the smartphones we enjoy today.

So, Samsung decided to take it to Kylo Ren and Co.

The world’s biggest mobile phone maker began global pre-orders of the limited Galaxy Note10+ Star Wars Edition, ahead of the December 20 release of the much-awaited Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The special Note10+ – first announced on November 19 – has a 12GB/256GB configuration and it – along with the included Galaxy Buds – comes in a black-and-red theme. An exclusive pouch and metal badge with Kylo Ren embossed on them are also included, with the latter considered a collector’s item. It also comes in a Sith-inspired package.

For good measure, the S Pen included has a red colourway, resembling the light saber Kylo Ren uses – though it would’ve been cooler if it had the lateral vents, too.

The device won’t be launched in all countries; it will be available in Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the UK, the US and, of course, the UAE.

Media outlets have reported that pre-orders have begun in some of these territories. And though there is no official word on when it will start in the UAE – but given pre-orders have commenced elsewhere – expect it to begin here any day, very soon.

The UAE, however, will be one of the first countries to have the device available when it is released this month.

UAE pricing was also unavailable. Global pricing, however, is $1,299, or roughly Dh4,700. The 512GB Galaxy Note10+ had a launch price of Dh4,499.
