The parents did not realise that the girl was not in her room until police officials came knocking on the door at 5:30 am.

An Indian teenager fell to her death from the sixth floor of her apartment in Umm Al Quwain, social workers told Khaleej Times. The UAQ Police have confirmed it as a case of suicide.

The teen, identified as FM, is the second of its kind following Friday’s incident where another Indian teen fell off the 10th floor of her apartment building in Sharjah.

Social worker and businessman Ashraf Thamarassery, who is helping the family complete legal formalities, said, “UAQ police are presently investigating the case.” The incident may have taken place in the early hours of Sunday morning, after 5:00 am, according to Thamarassery.

“The parents did not realise that the girl was not in her room until police officials came knocking on the door at 5:30 am,” he added. The middle child of three kids, FM is a student at an Indian curriculum school in UAQ.

She lives with her parents and siblings; however, her father was in India when the incident took place, and is coming back today. “He is a businessman is what I hear. The girl’s grandmother, mother, and the older brother was at home when it took place,” said Thamarassery.

Khaleej Times awaits comments from UAQ Police officials.
