In pictures: Al-Ahly receives league trophy in a stunning ceremony

CAIRO – 10 October 2019: Al-Ahly first team players, former players, board members and legends reunited on Thursday night to celebrate the 2018-2019 Egyptian League title.

The last season’s title was one of the toughest in the club history after a fierce race with Zamalek, who were leading the league table almost the whole season.

The first team players received the trophy from the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) interim chief Amr El-Ganainy who attended the ceremony alongside EFA board members.

Al-Ahly sponsors, Presentation, organized the event which received huge praise from the attendees.

Al-Ahly clinched the league title after a fierce race last season with Zamalek, who were leading the league table almost the whole season.

A very tough road was taken by Al Ahly to reach this point of the journey; a bad start with the French coach, Patrice Carteron, many points wasted. The gap between Al Ahly and Zamalek reached 20 points due to postponed games.

Many injures hit the team in the middle of the season, the board of directors sacked Carteron and appointed Mohamed Youssef as a caretaker before hiring Martin Lasarte. Al Ahly signed many players like Ramadan Sobhy and Hussein El Shahatat the winter market who helped the team to achieve the title.

Al-Ahly baords’ efforts paid off as the team won the title at the end of the season with eight points gap.
