On the directive of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Punjab government has declared a holiday for three districts on November 9, 2019 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the state-of-the-art Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) Complex at Kartarpur Corridor in Dera Baba Nanak of Punjab’s Gurdaspur district on Saturday.
Punjab Chief Minister has declared a holiday in Gurdaspur, Kapurthala and Amritsar districts on November 9, 2018. Moreover, Gurdaspur BJP MP and Bollywood actor Sunny Deol will also be a part of the official jatha that will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor.
The decision was announced by Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh’s office on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Office has cleared Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu’s visit to Pakistan to take part in the Kartarpur corridor opening ceremony on the Pakistani side.
The much-awaited corridor will have all the necessary passenger amenities to facilitate pilgrims intending to visit the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan.
The design and quality parameters also have been prepared to keep in view the aspirations and religious sentiments of the followers of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism.
Guru Nanak was the founder of Sikhism and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. He was born in Punjab (modern-day Pakistan) and gave spiritual teachings based on the universal divinity of creation.
