If you are a fan of horror, head straight to Souq Al Wakrah to experience the spine-tingling Bou Deryah horror house, one of the crowd favourites in this year’s Eid Al Adha celebrations.
Not for the faint of heart, Bou Deryah features 10 rooms with terrifying characters which test the courage of every visitor who enters the house open from 6pm to 10pm. The horror house will shut door tomorrow, August 16.
Entry to the horror house, which is a first in Souq Al Wakrah, costs QR25 and pregnant women and children below 12 years old are not allowed.
“It’s my first time to try a horror house and it certainly did not disappoint. It was unique and exciting and worth the experience. There should be more of this in Qatar,” said Mark, who was one of the first to try the horror house.
Visitors to the souq also enjoyed a variety of family rides and games located in huge tents erected specially for the celebrations.
Some of the games at Souq Al Wakrah’s tent, which is located adjacent to the parking area, bear an Eid fun flavour including a set of sheep-themed games like Swimming Sheep, Hit the Sheep, Feed the Sheep, Kidnap the Sheep, Thirsty Sheep and Hunt the Sheep.
The tent also features some unique games such as Glow in the Dark Golf, Throw and Smash, Car Race and virtual penalty kick game. Among the kiddie rides and games at the tent are Crazy Wave, Trampoline, Caterpillar, Helicopter, Bump Cars, Old Race, and Ocean Ball.
There is also kids area where movies are screened and a workshop area where children can have colouring and drawing sessions.
An array of toys, snacks, and traditional food are available at several stalls that can be found inside and outside the tent.
The beachfront at Souq Al Wakrah also witnessed hundreds of families who enjoyed swimming and bonding time.
Entry to the tents is free and games and rides are uniformly priced at QR10.
Doha Metro’s Red Line, which is in full operation, provides fast and cheap mode of transport to residents from remote areas.
Souq Al Wakrah Eid celebrations run until August 16 from 5pm to 11pm.
