Legendary cricketer Kapil Dev suffered a heart attack and was undergoing angioplasty surgery, according to reports in Indian media on Friday.

The 61-year-old Kapil, one of the greatest all-rounders cricket has ever seen, famously led India to 1983 Cricket World Cup victory.

Kapil ended his Test career in 1994 with 434 wickets. The right-arm fast bowler also took 225 wickets in one-day cricket.

The news has left the social media shocked as fans took social media platforms to wish speedy recovery.
