CAIRO – 12 October 2019: Egypt’s General Intelligence Services (GIS) organized the first International Intelligence Forum in Cairo on October 8-9.
The forum was attended by high-level delegations of intelligence and security bodies from 44 countries worldwide.
Discussions and papers proposed during the forum’s sessions focused on enhancing security cooperation in terms of fighting terrorism, ideological confrontation and spotting financing channels of the terror groups. While addressing the topic, the discussions took into consideration the advanced techniques employed by terror organizations, especially through social networks.
The forum issued a number of recommendations that called for increasing the level of international coordination regarding the confrontation of terror activities, while avoiding linking them to any religious doctrine as terrorism has not religion.
