CAIRO, Aug 13 (MENA) – EgyptAir will receive on Wednesday its sixth and last Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, as part of a deal to purchase six jets of the same model.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the national flagship carrier said members of its technical delegation, who are currently on a visit to the American city of Seattle, has revised all agreed measures and specifications for the plane.
The delegation members also paid a visit to the world’s largest aircraft factory “Boeing Everett Factory” to see for themselves all steps taken by the facility in the process of manufacturing planes, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Boeing representatives said they are looking forward to further cooperation with EgyptAir.
The newly-received Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners are set to be operated on EgyptAir’s routes to Shanghai, Tokyo as well as New York and Bangkok.
The B787-9 Dreamliner is capable of flying a distance ranging between 14,800 and 15,700 km non-stop with ‘dispatch reliability’ hitting 99%. It was developed so as to be 20% more fuel-efficient than its counterparts in commercial aircraft.
