The test, which requires limited human intervention, costs Dh752 and targets VIPs, investors and holders of the golden residency visa, in its first phase.

A fully automated medical fitness centre in Dubai has served 1,589 residents since its inception in February, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has said. Powered by artificial intelligence (AI), the Smart Salem centre in City Walk completes the medical fitness certification processes in under 30 minutes.

The test, which requires limited human intervention, costs Dh752 and targets VIPs, investors and holders of the golden residency visa, in its first phase.

“The centre is equipped with futuristic digital technology, modern medical devices and integrated systems across government departments to provide a seamless experience for customers and stakeholders,” the DHA said. “It also offers residence visa stamping for eligible customers in partnership with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai.”

Maisa Al Bustani, director of the Medical Fitness Services Department, DHA, said the authority is “studying opportunities” to open more automated centres.

How it works

The centre uses the AI pod to measure vitals like blood pressure, height, weight and body temperature. It retrieves medical history, which analyses the information and highlights the risk parameters for the physician. The results are then sent to the Salem system electronically, reducing time and eliminating possible errors.

The centre has four robots for customer service, relay, catering and vending.
