Dubai warehouse fire under control: Civil Defence

The firefighting operation is still going on.

The Dubai Civil Defence has confirmed that fire that broke out in a warehouse near a Metro station has been brought under control. The cooling exercise is underway.

Earlier, a fire broke out in a warehouse near the Abu Baker Al Siddique metro station in Dubai.

The fire started in three cars parked near the warehouse which then spread to the building.

The Dubai Civil Defence operations room received the information about the fire at about 12:25pm and the brigades from the Port Saeed fire station were immediately rushed to the site.

The firefighters from other stations including Al Hamriya and Al Rashidiya also joined in, to battle the warehouse fire.

Spokesperson of the Dubai Civil Defence, Mahmood Hamad informed that the firefighting operation is still going on and no cases of injuries and suffocation have been reported so far.

According to a tweet on Dubai Police official Twitter account, the Salah Aldin Street (bidirectional) along with all entrances leading to Al Khubaisi area are now temporarily closed due to the fire accident.
