A CCTV footage that captured the incident supported the father’s testimony.

A 34-year-old man has stood trial in Dubai for allegedly molesting a four-year-old boy in front of his father.

The Asian man, who was on a visit visa, reportedly held the boy by his arms and kissed him twice at a mall, the Dubai Court of First Instance heard.

The boy’s father, a Filipino, was with him when the incident happened, court records showed. “I was standing next to the outdoor benches with my son. It was around 7.45pm. The defendant then came to us and said my son was beautiful. He repeated it. Then suddenly, he grabbed my son and lifted him by the arms.”

The father tried to stop the accused, to no avail. “He suddenly took off my son’s shorts and kissed him twice for no reason. That made me angry so I asked him what he was doing, but he quickly left the place,” he recounted during the public prosecution investigation.

He alerted the security guard and the defendant was caught. He later filed a complaint at the Bur Dubai police station. A CCTV footage that captured the incident supported the father’s testimony.

During the investigation, the defendant admitted that he inappropriately kissed the boy.

The trial has been adjourned to October 21.
