Dubai: Robots Replace Humans At World’s First AI Cafe

The UAE’s ambition to be a global leader in AI technology has been enhanced further with the announcement that the country is set to open the world’s first AI-themed café.

It may sound like something out of a science fiction movie, but RoboCafe, in Dubai Festival City, is almost ready to swing into operation, with three robots waiting to get started.

Customers visiting this futuristic food and beverage outlet will pace their order through a tablet at the entrance. Then it’s over to the robots, which are fashioned like functioning arms.

Using the very latest technology and AI they will be able to take the order, produce the drinks or dishes and serve them.

Yasmin El Enazi, customer happiness manager at Robocafe, said: “The whole cafe will be fully autonomous. Customers can place their order through a tablet at the entrance, and leave it to the robot arms to serve your brew. In addition to serving coffee, they’re touted to perform musical and light shows too.”

The café will have a capacity to serve 60 people, while it is understood the menu will consist of a range of beverages, such as tea and coffee, as well as a selection of snacks.
