A couple who defrauded people by offering to provide domestic workers when the Covid-19 related travel restrictions were in place was among 47 people arrested by the Dubai Police.
The police managed to arrest 47 members of 20 African gangs for various cyber crimes under an operation titled Crime of Shadow, an official has said.
Maj-Gen Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansoori, assistant commander for Criminal Investigation Department, said the crimes committed by the gangs include cyber fraud, extortion, blackmailing, impersonation and theft.
