Tops regional list, ranks seventh globally, ahead of New York City and Kuala Lumpur.
We always knew Dubai is the destination of choice for millions of travelers all over the world.
A leading global report has now stated that Dubai has been ranked as the most visited city in the Middle East and Africa region for 2019. Not only that, the city ranks seventh globally.
Dubai saw 16,328,300 visitors in 2019 (estimated), a growth of 2.6 per cent compared to last year, when it saw its visitor numbers just a shade under 16 million, said the report titled “Top 100 City Destinations – 2019 Edition” by Euromonitor International.
On the regional list, Dubai is followed by Makkah (9.8 million visitors), Madinah (8.8 million), Cairo (6.8 million), and Riyadh (5.4 million).
Internationally, at the top of the list is Hong Kong with 26.7 million visitors, followed by Bangkok (25.8 million), London (19.5 million), Macau (20.6 million), and Singapore (19.7 million). Paris, Dubai, New York City, Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul complete the top 10.
Two Indian cities feature in the top 15 – Delhi at 11th and Mumbai at 14th.
