The world health organization (WHO) is widely advocating that hands should be sanitised.
In a bid to contain the coronavirus, researchers suggest that people should not only wash hands thoroughly but also dry them with disposable paper towels.
Hand drying is as important as washing them as it removes moisture from the hands thereby avoiding transmission of microbes likely to occur from wet skin. Researchers also suggested using disposable paper towels over hot air dryers as this could be vital to avoid transmission of COVID-19.
While, the world health organization (WHO) is widely advocating that hands should be sanitised either with an alcohol-based hand rub or with soap and water, researchers pointed out that HOW you dry your hands also matter.
According to weforum.org, the research findings highlight that hot air hand dryers and cloth roller towels can be risky, especially in a hospital. Moreover, warm air and jet air dryers can increase the dispersion of particles and microorganisms into the air, contaminating the environment.
Hence it is advisable that using disposable paper towels is the most hygienic method of hand drying.
