Combating coronavirus: 9 shops in Dubai shut, warning for 176 others – News

A total of 504 shops were in compliance with the safety measures put in place.

Dubai Economy on Wednesday announced that nine shops have been shut down in the emirate for not complying with precautionary measures put in place to combat the Covid-19 coronavirus, while a warning was issued to 176 establishments. Eighteen shops were fined.




The shops that were found in violation of the guidelines were involved in wedding services, car accessories, spare parts trading, mobile phone trading and electronics repair.

In addition, nine shopping malls in Deira and Bur Dubai were also inspected. While 150 outlets in the malls were found to be fully compliant, 102 were warned for not having precautionary measures, such as social distancing stickers, in place.

A total of 504 shops were in compliance with the safety measures put in place.

Some of the shops were also fined for opening fitting rooms and conducting promotions, both of which are prohibited at present.
