It says that a ‘severe pneumonia-like illness’ would occur globally in 2020.
After Kim Kardashian shared a photo on Twitter of a 2008 book that claimed the coronavirus outbreak was foretold 12 years ago, social media went into a tizzy over the eerie passage.
The 2008 book End Of Days, written by the late Sylvia Brown, an author who claimed to be psychic, reads that a ‘severe pneumonia-like illness’ would occur globally in 2020.
According to Daily Mail, Browne was best known in her lifetime for writing over 40 books and was a frequent guest on talk shows, during which she would do psychic readings with guests or callers. However, she nearly as infamous for her repeated false or discredited predictions.
After the excerpt started doing rounds on social media, fact-checking website Snopes.com stated that the author might have been inspired by the SARS virus that occurred a few years before she published the book.
However, Browne talks in her book of a ‘pneumonia-like illness’ that attacks the ‘lungs and bronchial tubes’ and this seems to describe the Covid-19 fairly well. The book reads: “Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it has arrived, attack again 10 years later, and then disappear completely.”
According to Express.co.uk, the appearance of Covid-19 in China has not been as surprising as many have claimed. Since the outbreak of SARS in 2002 and 2003, health officials have warned new strains of the coronavirus might emerge in the future.
