The first runner-up walked away with a prize of Dh1 million.

An Indian national won Dh10 million in the Big Ticket Abu Dhabi raffle draw No. 219 held on Thursday.

Gurpreet Singh, who is based in Dubai, thought it to be a prank call when the organisers called him.

“Seriously? You are not joking, right? I thought the draw was in the evening,” Singh said.

When Singh was told that the timing of the draw was revised amid the pandemic, he couldn’t believe his luck.

He just sighed: “Oh! Thank you.”

Singh had bought the winning ticket number 067757 on August 12.
