Bahrain Plans To Develop Farming In The Kingdom

A  proposal to develop mechanisms to deploy protected-agriculture and water-saving farming in the Kingdom of Bahrain has been submitted by the Members of Parliament (MPs).

The proposal comes in harmony with the royal directives to boost food production and self-sufficiency stated in the inaugural address of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during the opening of the Council of Representatives second session of the Fifth Legislative Term.

Speaker Fawzia Abdullah Zainal and three MPs Mohamed Isa Al Abbasi, Ammar Ahmed Al Bannai and Fadhil Abbas Al Sawad have conceived their proposal from the royal address which stated the specifics of “The Strategic Food Production Scheme” and designated various locations for fish farming and plantations in order to ensure the national capabilities in the nutritional industries and increasing local food productivity.
