27 people to undergo treatment for food poisoning after consuming food served at a religious ceremony in Muharraq according to the Ministry of Health.
Those affected have been admitted to King Hamad University Hospital and Muharraq Health Centre and a probe has been launched as to what led to food poisoning.
The affected include a five-year-old boy as well as a 74-year-old man, it is learnt.
The ministry said that they showed symptoms of food poisoning, which include severe stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhoea and headache.
