Avengers writers have confirmed a theory about Loki's fate

Honestly, I’m still not entirely sure what on Earth was going on in Avengers: Endgame. There were a whole lot of different universes, timelines, versions of characters and I’m still blurry on the details.

However, there is one character who has had our heads particularly spinny. And, as fans do, we’ve worked real hard to try and answer our own questions about said character’s fate.

Let’s take it back a minute.

(Spoiler alert, but if you’ve not seen the film yet, what are you even doing with your time?)

In Avengers: Infinity War, our favourite God of Mischief, Loki was brutally and totally unfairly slaughtered. Now, because his death happened so early on and way before Thanos started snappin’, fans assumed that Loki was gone for good. By the time Endgame came around, the collective heartbreak clearly had not healed.

Thanks to the twists and turns of the film, though, Loki popped up in one of the alternate timelines that sent me into a vortex of confusion. But, we were all thrilled to see those lovely locks one last time.

As it turns out though, it wont be for the last time. The Russo brothers recently confirmed to Business Insider that Loki’s still mischiefin’ somewhere.

According to Joe Russon, “Loki, when he teleports away with the Time Stone, would create his own timeline. It gets very complicated, but it would be impossible for [Cap] to rectify the timeline unless he found Loki. The minute that Loki does something as dramatic as take the Space Stone, he creates a branched reality.”

Hopefully there will be some kind of shining light where this all makes sense in the future. But for now, I’m just happy Loki’s alive and well.
