CAIRO – 12 July 2019: The Egyptian Armed Forces denied in a Friday statement that its subordinate, the National Service Products Organization, owns Dubci, a new Egypt-based ride-hailing mobile application.
The statement further demanded media outlets and journalists to check the accuracy of news and refer to official sources while covering topics regarding the armed forces.
It is noteworthy that the new application has stirred wide controversy since its promotional campaign, especially after the company announced that Mohamed Samir, the former Egyptian armed forces spokesperson, is among the executive management of the company.
Samir, however, posted on his Facebook profile that he apologized from taking the position in Dubci for not being able to find enough time for a full-time commitment.
Previously, Samir denied media reports that he would be Dubci’s CEO, affirming that he would only be responsible for the development of the company’s human capital.
