'Animal Crossing: New Horizons' trailer makes fans melt down online

Is there anything more pure and delightful than Animal Crossing? No.

Nintendo revealed Animal Crossing: New Horizons during its E3 stream on Tuesday, sending shockwaves around the globe as we gazed upon its majesty, captive in the distilled joy that radiants from its very essence.

Here’s a look at the trailer, which gives us the release date of March 20, 2020:

There’s so much to unpack from this footage. First of all, it looks like villagers will be roughing it on a deserted island to start, complete with a tent and a workbench for crafting different items. That’s right, we’re looking at an Animal Crossing survival game.

People took their excitement online immediately, just shouting through their keyboards, unable to contain themselves.

Sometimes you just need to let it out, however it comes.

The last major Animal Crossing release was 2012’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf, so people were obviously excited to see the series in splendid HD.

Fans are so ready to completely sink themselves into their new island villages.

Not only does the New Horizons world look gorgeous, this game is also bringing new skin tones to the Animal Crossing world, making it more inclusive for everyone.

And people are really appreciative of the new elements that New Horizons will be bringing to the series, which hasn’t really strayed from its usual path much over the years.

Buckle up, everyone, we still have a ways to go before its release rolls around.
