170kmph Cyclone Maha to affect UAE, flooding expected – News

Met department is closely monitoring the situation.

Water surge brought about by Cyclone Maha will affect the UAE from Monday to Wednesday, according to the National Centre of Meteorology.

In its latest update, the NCM said that the UAE will experience rough seas in the evening. Water surge may affect low land during the high tide period from Monday to Wednesday.

Cyclone Maha, which is still a category 1, is expected to intensify into a category 2 over the next 24 hours.

The Met department urges the public to follow their social media handles for accurate updates and avoid spreading rumours about the cyclone.
